The Glassy Mountain Fire Department conducted a Live Fire training event on an acquired structure on May 22nd. Units from Glassy, the Lake Cunningham Fire Department, Tigerville Fire Department, and the Slater-Marietta Fire Department participated in mobile water supply, relay pumping, and exposure protection & control on a nearly 100-year-old farmhouse.
The property owners graciously donated this building for our use to train and make way for a new home that will be constructed on the property. Thank you to all involved. This was an excellent opportunity to train with our partners and build a better fire service for northern Greenville County. And thank you to 1-800-BOARDUP for providing refreshments and rehabilitation to the personnel involved. It was certainly a warm day and a hot fire.
