Recruiting

New Recruits:

Welcome to the Glassy Mountain Fire Service Area!

First Things First...

The fire department may seem like foreign soil at first-don’t be overwhelmed. Know that we are glad you are here and are happy to answer questions. There may be things that we forget to explain-just ask!

Two documents that will help you get started is SOP 103-General Rules of the Department and the New Member Orientation Guide.

Training…it’s never finished!

There are several online courses that you may complete at your own pace. We would like for these to be completed within your first four months of service. There is no cost for these courses. You are also welcome to utilize the computers at one of our stations to complete these courses.

Recruitment & Retention

As a new recruit you are eligible to participate in our incentive program. the program has six phases. Successful completion of all six phases can earn you and your recruiter $375!
